Juneau Anniversary June 7 2014

Juneau, the capital of Alaska....a wonderful wet and rainy anniversary in Alaska! #39
A great ride on the Fjord Express catamarand.  This is a family owned business and their oldest daughter was our first mate for the day.  Just graduated high school and 18, she is working at getting her captain license.
She was capable and did so much from tying up the boat to serving us hot beverages and seafood chowder on the way home to swinging the big boat around and docking us up as we returned!

 The captain made sure that we saw lots of wildlife.  These are stellar sea lions and many were branded along their bodies so that the marine biologists can keep an eye on them.
 There were so many of them lined up on the flat rocks.  It was a great sight to see!
 The babies were having a swim here while the mom's took a break!
 We saw so many bald eagles on this day!  You can see one tucked in the spruce tree here.
 I took a great video of two whales but here you will have to see the rain spotted pic of a blow there in the center of the picture of a humpback whale and...
 either a tail or body of a whale near another blow from a different whale.
 We stopped at Juneau and had lunch and then took a drive to the Mendanhall Glacier via bus.
 Chilly and wet it didn't dampen our fun day!
 On our return trip we viewed the Eldred Lighthouse.  It is for sale if any of you care to live here! Check with the U S Coast Guard.
 Our captain sure wanted us to have a great day and he had such keen eyes to see the wildlife on the horizon.  He had his hands on the binoculars and...

Two week update on being owners of Welcome Station RV Park

Today marks two weeks since our lifestyle change.  It's been a whirlwind!  Mostly a fun one, even with the long hours and hard work.  Steve is handling the phone and parking and I am learning the ropes of running a business using Quickbooks and not having much of an office!  The former owner left behind a couple of old chairs and tables, a tv cart, a small bookshelf and voila, an office!  The house was not clean, and is still in the process of becoming so but one of the renters has helped me and we've had some great times and she and her hubby have played games with us. The Oaks Camp and Conference Center MMAP Project #1

It has been heard through the grapevine....that an update is wanted for the O'Bosky's blog! We have, for the past three weeks, been at The Oaks Camp and Conference Center near Lancaster, California.  It is a super wonderful Christian camp which is part of World Impact.  The staff was a blessing and were so very friendly!  We found we were blessed and refreshed as we blessed them.  Traveling with a purpose...doesn't get better than this!  Steve and I are a part of MMAP (Mobile Missionary Assistance Program)  Here are a few pics of what happened while we were there.  These are the 5 men of this project.  A great time was had by all as they loved and served the Lord helping out on different projects.   Smitty and Steve helped to fix the human foos ball game.  The ladies of the project on a walk to get some surplus produce. GUIDANI TRAIL near Kartchner Caverns

The landscape is dry and covered with Mesquite. The tufts of grass Edgewater show the signs of a winter rain. It is chilly here with an altitude of 4600 feet. I choose the trail less traveled, the Guidani trail in the forest which just borders the state park with the fabulous caves . It is an easy walk until the climb to the top. Today I return to the wash to take a few pics.
